I'm keeping this post nice and simple today with just two photos. I wore this outfit out to dinner with two of my friends. Usually about once a month we head to this restaurant that the three of us absolutely love because of the amount of food that you get for the price. It is just so, so good and we always have a great time when we're there. Today at the restaurant we were about ready to leave when someone in a dog costume (it kind of looked like Goofy, but not quite), came in and started dancing for a group of older ladies. My friends and I were dying of laughter and were joking that the person in the dog costume was going to start stripping. All in all, I would say that it was a good night haha.
As far as what I'm wearing, the dress was purchased on sale at Target. It's from the Kate Young designer collection for Target and I was so excited to buy this one for one thing, because it has an adorable peter pan collar, and for a second thing, I actually know stylist Kate Young's father. It's great to see how well pulled together her collection was, and how it suited my style so well with the predominantly black and white collection.

HMS Duke
I wore this outfit to go apply for a summer job. I had applied for a lot of jobs with no positive responses, but today I walked into a store after having seen a posting online and was offered the job on the spot. So I have a job at a cute store to look forward to this summer!
As for my outfit, I have a bit of an obsession with polka dots. I seriously can never have enough of them. I bought this dress on sale at Urban Outfitters not long ago. This tote bag, by Duke & Winston, I found at a rummage sale over the weekend. I actually had the chance to interview the owner of the Philly-based brand, Duke & Winston twice previously. Most of their merchandise is for guys, but they do have some t-shirts and other merchandise for the ladies. The brand is named after an adorable bulldog named Duke and Winston Churchill.

White Lace
Hi. It's been a while, hasn't it? This past year in college I didn't really have anyone to ask to take pictures of my outfits, and setting up a tripod either inside a tiny dorm room, or outside on the streets of Philly wasn't necessarily a great idea. I did, of course, take the occasional selfie which you can find on my instagram account (@tfarnsworth) if you really care (though I doubt that all 16 of my followers do haha).

Philadelphia Flower Show
Big Ben
Flowers on the inside of the yellow submarine
Alice in Wonderland exhibit
Last weekend one of my friends invited me to go to the Philadelphia Flower Show with him since he had an extra press pass (meaning that I was convinced to do some reporting on camera for him as well... I now realize why I'm not into broadcast journalism, haha). The flower show this year was called "Brilliant!" and was themed after Great Britain. At first I was unsure of how the theme would be this year, but once I saw the exhibits, I immediately fell in love with it all. From the mock-up of Big Ben to a yellow submarine, all of the exhibits channeled British culture really well. I especially enjoyed the exhibit with the sculpturally stacked umbrellas and also the Alice in Wonderland exhibit.

Warby Parker's Class Trip
A few weeks ago, glasses company Warby Parker brought their "class trip" to Philadelphia with their mobile showroom. The entire concept is quite awesome seeing that the showroom is a school bus and the bus spends several days, or in Philadelphia, 2 weeks, moving to different locations around the city, allowing you to try on their glasses in person instead of getting a home try-on kit. I had considered getting Warby Parker glasses previously, but then I happened to have won a pair of Bonlook glasses in a giveaway, so I decided to try out Bonlook first. I truly do love my Bonlook glasses, but Warby Parker's quality is also really great. Although i still do not own Warby Parker glasses, being able to try them out through their mobile showroom really solidified my opinions on the company and I hope to get my next pair of glasses from them (as soon as I need a new pair!).
I also wrote an article about the event for my school's paper here. I never realized this before, but the brand actually has a basis in Philadelphia, seeing that the four founders of Warby Parker actually went to school at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Also, I never realized where the name of the brand came from before and it is actually a combination of two of Jack Kerouac's character's names. Both the fact that the brand started out in Philly and that the name is based on Kerouac makes the brand so much cooler in my mind.
Anyway... I leave you with some really awkward photo booth photos that I took while visiting the class trip.

Outfest 2012
Since moving to Philly, I haven't really been able to photograph any of my outfit photos. The orignial purpose of this blog was to document my style on a day-to-day basis, but trying to take your own photos in a cramped dorm room isn't the easiest thing to do. I thought that I might just start sharing pieces of my every day life, or mostly of the events which I've been attending throughout the city. Anyway... I guess I'll just see where this goes.
These photos are from Outfest, an event which is held in conjunction with National Coming Out week to support the LGBT community throughout the city of Philadelphia. The Outfest event in Philly is actually the largest LGBT event in the country, so it is pretty fun to attend.
Brittany Lynn
At the event there were of course lots of drag queens and kings (I interviewed a lovely drag queen named Brittany Lynn for an article I was writing on the event), high heel contests, penis-shaped bagel eating contests and various other interesting events (seriously though). Despite the fact that it was a rainy day, you cannot help but be so happy being around such an environment. Everyone always looks to be having so much fun, and it is just a great time to hang out in the "Gayborhood" (yes, center city Philly is called the "Gayborhood" for the event, hah!).

I thought it was pretty sweet to capture them holding hands
Guys putting on high heels...

Rainbows, of course
